Lafayette In Bloom                

 

The Lafayette In Bloom committee has selected a purple flower theme color this year and is asking residents and businesses to plant purple flowers in a conspicuous place in your front yard or porch to be admired by neighbors, family, friends, and the America In Bloom judges.

 

Some suggestions for purple flowers include:

 

Sunny Areas

Perennials:  Clematis, ConeFlower, Delphiniums, Monarda, Japanese or Siberian Iris, Perennial Geranium, Perennial Salvia, Scabiosa.

Annuals: Brachyscome, Cleome, Gomphrena, Petunia, Salvia, Verbena, Vinca.

Purple Foilage Plants :  Iresine, Phormium, Scented Geraniums, Sweet Potato Vine, Tradescantia Vine,  Morning Glory.                                                                                                        

 

Part Sun / Shade 

Perennials:  Astilbe, Campanula.

Annuals:  Browallia, Nierembergia, Scaveola, Torenia.
