West Lafayette In Bloom

The West Lafayette In Bloom committee has selected Hot Pink for a flower theme color this year and is asking residents and businesses to plant hot pink flowers in a conspicuous place in your front yard or porch to be admired by neighbors, family, friends, and the America In Bloom judges.

Some suggestions for Hot Pink flowers include:

Sunny Areas

Perennial plants: (These are weather dependent...if hot and dry, most will have finished blooming.)   Tall Phlox, new varieties of Monarda, new varieties of echinacea, perennial geranium,  Roses - Pink Double Knock-out among many.

Annuals: Cockscomb (celosia) "Pink Candles", Gerbera Daisy, Petunias, Lisianthus, Gernaiums,  Morning Glory - "Candy Pink", Mandevilla, Snapdragons, Dianthus, Vinca.  Variegated foliage like Iresine and Alteranthera.

Shady Areas:

Perennials:  pink-leaved Heuchera, Astilbe.

Annuals: impatiens, Coleus, Perilla, Begonia, Fushcia, Torenia and Caladiums.
